Texas Hill Country Olive Oil

@ St. Elmo Public Market

Role: Interior / Architectural Designer

Project Type: Individual Market Stall within an Indoor Public Market Hall

Project Goals: When meeting with the clients, they requested a unique and grand statement piece that captures the attention of passerby’s, leaving a standing identity and impression. After walking through their olive groves at their original Texas Hill Country Location, it became evident a grand olive tree, or two, would set the stage. The trees not only grab and hold the attention, but the upward motion keeps the perceivers eyes engaged inviting further exploration. The trunks frame the space while the branches drop down to form vertical dividing panels for display shelves while containing the sector. Additionally, the overhead horizontal branches provide both a ceiling element and a trellis for hanging plants and lights, creating an immersive and transformational experience. The designated stall sits at the center of the market in front of a main seating area, providing the perfect stage for a chef to create a dramatic and engaging show.
